Bringing thousands of employees together under one roof requires more than a new address. It requires a workplace engineered for collaboration, flexibility, and long-term performance.
As part of IBM’s flagship workplace at One Madison Avenue in New York City, the project transformed a large-scale office environment into a centralized hub designed to support innovation, team connectivity, and evolving ways of working. The workplace consolidates multiple business units into a unified environment that balances focused work, collaboration, client engagement, and community-building.
Spanning approximately 270,000 square feet across multiple floors, the project was designed to accommodate a diverse workforce while creating clear alignment between workplace strategy, operational functionality, and employee experience. Dedicated collaboration zones, flexible meeting environments, social gathering spaces, and innovation-focused areas work together to support both individual productivity and cross-functional engagement.
A key component of the workplace is its emphasis on connection—between teams, clients, and the broader technology ecosystem. Large-scale innovation spaces, hospitality-inspired amenities, and integrated communal environments create opportunities for interaction while maintaining the performance requirements of a high-demand corporate workplace.
The project also prioritizes wellness, accessibility, and environmental responsibility through thoughtfully integrated outdoor spaces, biophilic elements, and workplace features designed to support long-term occupant wellbeing. Expansive terraces, natural light, and flexible work settings contribute to a workplace experience that extends beyond traditional office design.
For Reflor, projects of this scale demand more than material execution. They require coordination across procurement, scheduling, installation, and project delivery to ensure every component performs within a larger architectural system. In complex workplace environments, successful outcomes depend on disciplined execution, specification alignment, and the ability to deliver durable, high-performance flooring solutions that support the operational demands of the space for years to come.
